About Tumobird

Discord bot hosting, built by people who ship bots.

Tumobird exists because every Discord bot hosting option was either a free-tier mirage that throttled our bots or an enterprise platform priced for a sales team we didn't have. So we built the host we wanted: serious infrastructure, maker pricing, zero nonsense.

Our mission

Reliable infrastructure for the people who actually build Discord bots.

Discord hosts more than 19 million active servers and tens of millions of custom bots. A small fraction of those bots run on serious hosting. The rest run on someone's laptop, a Raspberry Pi in a closet, a Heroku free tier that went away, or a shared VPS where one Minecraft server next door eats 100% of the CPU.

Tumobird is our answer to that problem. We believe the person who wrote a moderation bot for their 500-member server deserves the same quality infrastructure as a team running a commercial bot at scale. Reliability shouldn't be gated behind enterprise contracts or sales calls. It should cost $1.99 a month.

Every decision we make routes through one question: does this help someone ship their Discord bot faster, or does it just make our internal lives easier? We don't add features for pitch decks. We add features because a bot developer hit a wall and needed a way over it.

What makes Tumobird different

Three deliberate choices that shape how we build, price, and support the product.

Built for one workload

Tumobird only hosts Discord bots. Not game servers, not static sites, not Kubernetes clusters. The entire platform — networking, supervisor, observability — is tuned for the Discord gateway and its specific failure modes.

Honest pricing

The price you see is the price you pay. No per-command billing, no egress surprises, no seat counts. If your bot fits in 512 MB of RAM, you pay $1.99 a month — even if it sends a million messages.

Maker-first support

Every support channel is staffed by engineers who've shipped Discord bots in production. You don't get a tier-one agent reading a script; you get someone who knows what OP 7 RECONNECT means and why your sharding is off.

The technology behind Tumobird

Purpose-built for Discord bot hosting, from the container runtime up.

Tumobird runs on a fleet of AMD EPYC-based compute nodes across three regions (EU, US, APAC), connected by a region-redundant overlay network designed to keep Discord gateway connections alive during node drains. Each Discord bot deployment runs in an isolated container with its own Linux namespace, network stack, and encrypted filesystem layer.

Our supervisor monitors every deployment at two layers: the process level (TCP heartbeats to the Discord gateway, memory and CPU pressure) and the application level (custom health endpoints your bot can expose, or a Discord-specific liveness probe that watches for OP 11 HEARTBEAT_ACK frames). When either layer reports unhealthy for 30 seconds, we auto-restart in under 5.

Builds use a layered cache keyed on your lockfile so the second deploy of a Python bot with 50 dependencies takes 8 seconds, not 90. Secrets are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, stored separately from the source, and only injected into the process environment at container start. Logs stream to you in real time with a sub-second lag; we don't batch your output into 5-minute chunks.

Our principles

The values we'd rather lose a customer over than compromise.

Transparency about incidents. When something breaks, we write a real postmortem with root causes and remediation, not a "we experienced elevated errors" platitude. status.tumobird.com publishes concrete uptime numbers, not a fuzzy green dot.

No vendor lock-in. Your code stays in your Git repository. Your data is exportable in a standard format. If you want to migrate off Tumobird, we'll help you — we'd rather you come back in a year than be stuck today.

Security by default, not opt-in. Every deployment gets automatic TLS, encrypted secrets, and isolated networking without a single setting to flip. We publish our security practices at /security and welcome coordinated vulnerability disclosures.

Small team, long timeline. Tumobird is bootstrapped, not VC-funded. We don't need to grow 10x next quarter. We need to serve the next ten thousand Discord bots well for a decade.
